Pamana is a cookbook that aims to promote the documentation and preservation of Filipino heirloom family recipes and foodways to its primary stakeholders, middle-aged Filipino home cooks. The cookbook is also used alongside and supplemented by a website that functions as a place for users to discover the intervention, and also a digital archive for photos and videos of the recipes documented in the physical cookbook. As a whole, this design intervention is created to address the issue of the lack of urgency in the documentation of recipes as pieces of Filipino and family culture— and aims to bring family members together, reconnect them to these dishes and their family culture, and remember the memory and legacy of the people and stories associated with these recipes.
